For this line we have implemented the latest manufacturing techniques like we also employ them in our professional broadcasting video cables. They feature a gas-injected insulation which has been given a “double skin“ insulation smoothing treatment to guarantee constantly excellent attenuation and shielding values as well as low transfer impedances. Due to the DECT mobile phone technology, WLAN and the German E-network which use the same gigahertz range as various TV programmes, a clean, tight shielding is indispensable to avoid interference from electro-magnetic interference fields. The employed foils are overlapping and AL/PT coated to prevent them from tearing in case of stretching or temperature fluctuations.We use a high-quality Class 6N oxygen-free copper (OFC 99.9999%) which – given a competent laying – is oxidation resistant. With its 3.6 mm (0.14 in.) in diameter the HD-SDI cable is ideal for almost invisible cable connections and super compact patching, e.g. in control cabinets where every square millimeter counts. When using the double thickness HD-SDI standard sizes 0.8/3.7, things can get very cramped with multi-bundles. In our SC-Altera Split we've also put three 75 Ω video lines side by side and thereby designed a video component cable, especially for uptown tastes. Video component cablles are mostly fitted with RCA connectors and used for linking a signal source (DVD player, home cinema system) to the monitor (video beamer, flat TV or the likes). The cable can be spliced easily, which is very convenient if you want to determine the splice length yourself. We chose the diameter of the single wire so that the RCA plug has a perfect “grip“. The wires are color-coded pursuant to the common RGB standard: Y = green, U [Cb/Pb] = red, V [Cr/Pr] = blue.
