The 5.1 version is normally used if the decoding (channel splitting) is provided by the receiver and not by the player, as is the case e.g. with high-end players. The 75 Ω TRANSIT cable can be used both for analogue and digital signals. Usually it is connected to the multi-input of the digital receiver.
