Frustrated about losses?

A YUV cable is also called a “color differential cable“ and consists of three separate unbalanced 75 Ω lines. It is commonly used for connections in video engineering (e.g. on “progressive scan beamers“) and for linking the DVD player. For the transmission in the HDTV format we recommend the specifically designed SC-VECTOR cable. To get a perfect video signal, a transmission distance of 20 m (65.6 ft.) should not be exceeded. If this can't be avoided, we recommend choosing the TRANSIT 3 variant from the bulkware cable section. With it even transmission distances beyond 50 m (164 ft.) are no problem. We deliver three different versions of YUV cables: choose between the , the super flexible Transit Mini Flex round cable with gold-plated and POM insulated HICON HI-CM06 RCA connectors, and the flat Transit Mini Flex variant with gold-plated, PTFE insulated HICON HI-CM12 RCA crimping connectors with cable kink protection. The latter is particularly suitable for YUV applications because when compared to a solder joint, a crimp connection will always guarantee lower contact resistance values, i.e. a loss on the transition point between cable and connector can almost be ruled out.

All for one and one for all...This was the watchword of the 3 Musketeers when they were riding side by side into battle. In our SC-Altera Split we've also put three 75 Ω video lines side by side and thereby designed a video component cable, especially for uptown tastes. Video component cablles are mostly fitted with RCA connectors and used for linking a signal source (DVD player, home cinema system) to the monitor (video beamer, flat TV or the likes). The cable can be spliced easily, which is very convenient if you want to determine the splice length yourself. We chose the diameter of the single wire so that the RCA plug has a perfect “grip“. The wires are color-coded pursuant to the common RGB standard: Y = green, U [Cb/Pb] = red, V [Cr/Pr] = blue.
