SOMMER CABLE supported the livestream of the launch of the STAHR rocket:
Space Team Aachen e.V. – Project STAHR
Space Team Aachen e.V. is a student association with the goal of making space projects accessible to students. Over 160 students work on various projects ranging from rockets and satellites to research into new technologies for tomorrow's space travel. The association allows students to work on projects in the field they are passionate about during their studies.
On October 24, 2024, after three years of development, the STAHR rocket was launched and broke the association's altitude record. The self-developed engine took the rocket to an altitude of 21 km, a success for the team and also for the association.
With the help of SOMMER CABLE, the launch of the rocket could also be broadcast live. The cables also mastered the harsh conditions north of the Arctic Circle and will continue to enable the association to carry out rocket launches and other live streams in the future.
