Sometimes it depends on the length
Compared to active copper cables, AOC cables achieve a maximum higher range - and this with a greatly reduced weight as well as a significantly higher flexibility of the cable. This leads to a noticeably lower mechanical load on the connections in the devices.
To bridge the large distances of up to 50m, the necessary converters are integrated directly in the compact metal housing of the connectors. No (!) additional power supply is required - this is taken care of by the DisplayPort™ interface of source and sink.
All standards of the DisplayPort™ interface are fulfilled:
- Bidirectional DDC communication
- Link training
- HDCP up to V2.2
- HDR10
- Maximum 25GBit/s data bandwidth (link rate: 810 MHz)
The diameter of the hybrid cable used here is only 4.8 mm and can withstand a breaking force of 200N due to the aramid threads used.
